FDI Ltd Under Chassis Wash
Vehicle / locomotive is parked, length selection is made and start button operated. Chassis head with 3 revolving turrets, each with 3 jets, spin and clean across the whole vehicle width. Chassis head traverses by hydraulic drive, a section of the vehicle at a time, returns, then repeats the action, before moving on to the next section to clean. A 12 metre vehicle is cleaned with low pressure (below 800 psi to prevent vehicle exterior mounted engine management control systems warranties, becoming void) in around 30 minutes, a 6 wheel Refuse Collector running on land-fill sites will be cleaned for an MoT inspection in 40 minutes.
This unit can also be used to de ice or apply ice prevention products, onto locomotives and trams.
- Maximum wash height of 4.2 metres (4.5m, 4.7m or 5m as an option)
- Full vehicle width spraying at ALL times
- Standard chassis wash length of 12 metres, but 16m, 20m and 24m available.
- Stainless steel spray head
- Spray head operates by 4 wheel hydraulic drive (NO cables, belts or pulled by its own services which are wrapped around a revolving drum !)
- 3 stainless steel turrets on spray head each with 3 angled jets (9 jets in total cleaning full vehicle width) NO wagging side to side spray head, which if contamination falls on it, prevents it from moving side to side to clean.
- Jets are synchronised with a toothed belt to maximise spray cleaning pattern (NOT powered by wash pump, which would reducing the cleaning effectiveness)
- All services to spray head in nylon power chain (NO damaged cables etc)
- 15 Kilowatt multi stage seal less cleaning pump (will accept very high levels of contamination which normally grinds away seals in conventional pumps)
